Our deck design team is versed in the technology and requirements to bring your outdoor living space to life—even when the project calls for multiple trades and contractors. For this project, we ensured our design complemented the rest of the project’s requirements to a tee.
With a plan in hand, our “special ops field division” of Decknologists went to work. One of the biggest challenges: the existing grade of the yard didn’t accommodate a deck of any substantial height. So, the entire back yard of the property was excavated 10”, then re-sloped with gravel. The deck foundation was complete with over 30 in-ground screw piles.

The backyard resort for you and your friends
Our customers love to entertain… and with the finished space, their friends love coming over. We left nothing out. Need a place to change after you’ve cannonballed into the pool? The pool deck offers a change room. Need to relax your mind and muscle? Nestled into its own private corner, the built-in hot tub, with views of the backyard and lush tree canopy above, is your personal oasis.
After a swim, our customer serves up drinks at their custom-built bar. On those hot summer days, either enjoy the shade provided by the custom aluminum pergola, or warm up in the sun after a dip in the pool. Finish off the night by gathering around the cozy built-in fireplace and seating area.
Set the mood – with outdoor LED lighting
The pièce de résistance is how we lit the place! Out front, a series of bollard lights brighten the driveway and the landscaped paths that lead to the backyard. Throughout the trail, we used landscape spotlights to show off key parts of the garden.
It’s no wonder that this deck won lighting awards. With In-lite lights the entire backyard transforms at night, we took every opportunity to showcase the backyard and deck. The privacy walls and change room would otherwise be dark walls are lit up with lighting creating an inviting atmosphere everywhere you look. The pergola provides an opportunity for lighting the lounge area creating the perfect balance of ambiance in contrast with the flickering fire table flames.
